The national unity and vibrant cultural life were the characteristic features of the situation, in which William Shakespeare’s creativity unfolded. The brilliantly gifted man popularity is largely due to the richness of period. He did finish the provincial parochial school and came to the capital. A few years later, Shakespeare became the largest literary and theatrical value. The glorious Renaissance suddenly displayed its dark side. This was a period of primitive accumulation replacing feudalism with bourgeois relations with their new brutal contradictions. The explanation of many of Shakespeare’s tragedies can be found in cruelty of that era.

Shakespeare was tormented by thoughts about social injustice and the inequality of people. All his tragedies are full of concern for a man. He wrote 37 plays at different times. All periods of Shakespeare are characterized by a humanistic view of the world: a deep interest in the man and his feelings, aspirations and passions, the suffering and sorrow of a fatal mistake of people, dream of happiness for the person and of the humanity.

Shakespeare's works are considered as the best ones not only in English literature, but all over the world. His most famous works are the tragedies “Romeo and Juliet”, “Hamlet”, “Othello”, “King Lear” and “Macbeth”. They strike with the titanic force of passions and characters, the depth of the ideas put in them, a combination of striking characteristic features of his era and global problems. All these factors allow them to live in our era.
